Yesterday was a Difficult day.
And when a colleague arrived with bags of sweeties for the sweetie stash, there was only one thing for it.
I took a small bag of Haribo Tangfastics – and scoffed the lot.
I needed it.
About three weeks ago, I decided to cut sugar out of my diet. First I knocked the sugar in my tea and coffee down to half a spoonful, then after a couple of weeks I knocked it on the head completely. That lasted about three days – couldn’t do it – so back to half a spoonful, still an improvement on what I was having before.
I also cut out sweets and biscuits from my life. I really didn’t find this particularly difficult, which surprised me.
Our department at work pretty much runs on Haribo and chocolate, but I found it very easy to just not bother with it once I’d decided that I needed to cut down.
Until yesterday. When, yes, I bothered with it.
Have I failed? Have I fallen off that bloody wagon completely?
No, of course not. Just because I’ve had one small hiccup on my road to reducing sugar, doesn’t mean I’ve failed in the whole venture. I’m still avoiding sugar, life will continue as before.
I refuse to feel guilty about it, and I absolutely refuse to use it as a reason to give up.
