Keep Dancing!

Strictly Season comes to an end tonight.

It’s been fun, yes? And the effort they’ve all gone to in order to put on a live show during a pandemic has to be applauded. Such a shame about Nicola and Katya.

And now we’re down to the last four. In no particular order –

We have Maisie – youngest contestant, pretty bloody good but still in the dance off more often than I think she deserved.

We have Bill – an inspiration to all middle-aged men. All middle-aged people. Anyone who might be middle-aged one day.

We have Jamie. Something of a puppy – you have to love him, but you wouldn’t ask him to do anything important.

And we have HRVY. Who is just awesome.

Who will lift the glitter ball?

My money is on HRVY for the win, with Maisie second, Jamie third and Bill fourth. I can’t remember – do they put them in order like that, or is it just the winner and the also rans?

Anyway, I think HRVY will win. I hope HRVY will win. The lad done good.

Every year I watch Strictly, and every year wish I could dance. In fact this time last year I even went so far as to go along to a taster session at a dance class. I enjoyed it – but my totally unpredictable shift pattern meant getting to lessons was going to be a challenge. And then Covid hit, so that was that.

I take my hat off to all the Strictly celebrities, but in particular the ones who’ve never danced before. And this year it’s been a bit of much-needed bling and sparkle in an otherwise dreary year.

Keep dancing!!

I love your description of Jamie. My thoughts exactly LOL! I am rooting for HRVY but the slightly more than middle aged me (?) – artistic licence, secretly hopes that Bill wins just to knock one in the net for us oldies. As for Maisie, she is good. She started out good and hasn’t really got significantly better – sort of a law of diminishing returns. If you start out at 95% you have to work really hard to get that extra little bit. Good luck to all of them. I miss our Strictly dinners. XX

    1. Oh, I miss them too. The lodger already thinks I’m batty so me putting on an evening gown for the Strictly Final shouldn’t trouble him too much…
